This version of The Sleeping Beauty, created by Rudolf Nureyev in 1966, stands out as being one of the most technically exciting and richly entertaining productions of this masterpiece. Staged by Artistic Director Karen Kain CC. The Sleeping Beauty is one of the National Ballet’s most treasured works and holds a singular place in the company’s history and the affections of its audiences. ELENA LOBSANOVA ON THE SLEEPING BEAUTY In 1976, together with London Festival Ballet and as part of the Nureyev Festival, Victor Hochhauser presented Rudolf Nureyev’s production of The Sleeping Beauty. The National Ballet of Canada’s superb principal, Karen Kain, danced Princess Aurora to Nureyev’s Prince Florimund. 44 years later, we are proud to present Rudolf Nureyev’s sumptuous production of The Sleeping Beauty danced spectacularly by The National Ballet of Canada, steered by their internationally renowned Artistic Director, Karen Kain CC.Principal Dancers include
